This is by far our most commonly asked question, however it’s probably more appropriate to ask, how much does an ideal ‘home security system’ cost?
This is because modern home alarm systems generally now include cameras, (traditionally called CCTV systems) and a mobile App to provide you with remote access and to enable active security and fire monitoring services to do their job. So, how much does an ideal but reasonably priced home security system cost?
The answer is that our most popular option, the Home Essentials package, which includes supply, fitting and set-up of the latest wireless Control Panel (which connects all the other devices together) a motion sensor, a door contact, a deterrent sign and the App (which can be downloaded onto three devices per resident or family member).
The purchase price includes free installation anywhere on the UK mainland by one of our super friendly engineers and we try to include an optional extra too, which in most cases is an internal Wi-Fi camera, which is really useful.
There is also a monthly subscription fee* for the 24/7 security support package, which can be a bit controversial for people wanting only a simple alarm system they can set when they go out or when comparing to a DIY option, however… we believe an alarm system isn’t much use if it’s turned off, which is what happens with most unmonitored systems soon after they are installed… why?
Most unmonitored systems cause frequent false alarms, which the system can’t distinguish from a real break-in, which doesn’t help much when there is an actual break-in! Frequent (false) loud external alarm activations, especially at night, tend to make the owner very unpopular in the local neighbourhood and hence the alarm is rarely if ever turned on after the initial few weeks of being installed.
Our system is designed to avoid false alarms by using clever pet detection technology and subject tracking cameras, so if there is a genuine break-in where your property or your family members are actually at risk, then a monthly subscription means a trained security professional can take action on your behalf – within seconds of an activation.
The monitoring centre operative can inform you or others on your contact list of the activation, send a private security guard if you are away or inform the police if you’re in the house at the time and it’s an emergency. Now isn’t that worth it?
We think so!
